Lefty Ocho – Descend faster. Corner harder. Climb higher. Win more.
The Lefty Ocho suspension fork is aimed at all cross country racers who focus on results. Thanks to a virtually frictionless, needle bearing internal design and an advanced high-flow chamber damper with self-balancing air spring, the Ocho has the smoothest damping response imaginable. Its incredibly light weight allows it to reach outstanding speeds on climbs, while one of the best overall stiffness values in its class provides a confident and precise ride. The Ocho is different. And that makes a big difference in a sport that’s all about incremental improvements.
Features of the Cannondale Lefty Ocho Aluminum suspension fork.
- aluminum (upper / lower fork leg)
- approx. 1735 grams (29″, manufacturer’s specification)
The design with the single-sided crown makes the Ocho one of the stiffest forks on the market. Thanks to its unique design, Cannondale’s engineers were also able to define exactly where the fork flext how much. For ultimate control and precision, even at the limit.
With only one fork leg, the Ocho is one of the lightest XC suspension forks you can get. Climb faster! Accelerate better! Fly higher!
Instead of sliding on bushings, the Ocho rolls smoothly on 3 interconnected sets of needle bearings that keep the inner fork leg from spinning in the outer. No friction, just smooth suspension.
Cannondale Lefty Ocho suspension fork technologies.
- The unique single-side design not only saves a massive amount of weight, it also provides extreme steering precision and control. With this weight advantage, the designers were able to strengthen the components where stiffness and stability are required and build lighter elsewhere where the right flex is needed.
- Instead of sliding on bushings like other forks, the Ocho moves smoothly on 3 interconnected sets of needle bearings.
- A 3-sided needle bearing interface keeps the inner fork leg from spinning inside the outer. For uncannily precise steering accuracy.
- A self-venting, heat-compensating high-flow damper with external compression and rebound adjustment provides smooth and supple damping in all conditions.
- The self-aligning brake mount can be removed with the push of a button and the use of a 5mm wrench for quick and easy wheel removal.
- The larger-than-average offset (rake) of 55 mm (29 inches) fits perfectly with the flatter steering head angles of today’s XC frames and improves steering response as well as stability and control.
- For maximum efficiency at full throttle, a simple, reliable and train-controlled remote activates the lockout platform of the fork by operating a handlebar lever.
